CEC to introduce new technologies for local elections

The Central Election Commission (CEC) will introduce new technology for the upcoming local elections in Georgia.

CEC Deputy Chairman Giorgi Sioridze presented the CEC activity report, saying there is high interest and much political context in the October 2 race.

Thus, he said the video observation system would be practised across Georgia. The bulletins will be counted electronically at the 4th Krtsanisi Election constituency.

Consultations are ongoing with political entities and non-governmental organizations on the modification of the balloting booths. The silhouette of a voter will be visible to ensure secrecy of the voting process, though the decision is yet to be made.

The local elections are scheduled for October 2 in Georgia.
